How to Choose Sunglasses That Suit Your Face Shape

Sunglasses are part protection and part style. The best pair does both jobs: it blocks harmful rays and looks like it was made for your face.

Start with your face shape

  • Round faces look sharp in angular frames such as wayfarers.
  • Square faces are softened by round or aviator styles.
  • Oval faces suit almost anything, so choose what you enjoy wearing.
  • Heart-shaped faces pair well with light frames that are wider at the bottom.
The right frame balances your features and protects your eyes.

UV protection matters more than colour

Dark lenses without UV protection are worse than no sunglasses at all, because they make your pupils open wider and let in more harmful light. Always look for UV400 or an equivalent rating.

Fit and comfort

The frame should sit comfortably on your nose without pinching your temples, and should not slide when you look down. Try shaking your head gently while wearing them. If they move, they are too loose.

Our aviator and wayfarer sunglasses are a good place to start, since both suit a wide range of faces and outfits.
